Iron Craft #15 - Goodnight

This week's challenge:

"this challenge is all about sleeping. Make something to wear or take to bed, make some bedding or make something for the bedroom." Courtesy of Just Crafty Enough

I didn't have much time to do this project because Terry has taken his two weeks summer vacation during this time and we've been heading to the beach, to Tinkertown and just plain enjoying our short summer.

But Lane really needed jammies. All of the ones she had were hand me downs from Logan and a lot of them were either too hot for the summer or she was already growing out of them.  The next set of hand me downs are all very boyish two-piece jammies.

So I thought this would be a great time to make Lane her first nightie.

Made out of a Little Mermaid bedsheet and some red trim. Super easy to make up - it took me only about a half hour to make. There is a little elastic at the back for snugness.

Logan caught wind of my pajamas making venture and declared that he needed new ones as well. So I whipped up these the next day.

I had some Sponge Bob fabric kicking around in my stash for the short and shoulders. The grey is just the knit that I use in abundance to make potty trainers for the Etsy shop.

Here are my cute models.

Lane complained a bit that the jammies were difficult to walk in because they were so narrow. Not that she needs to walk in them, but I thought I'd try another pattern I had in my head - a simple t-shirt dress type assembly.

Here is a video of Lane twirling in it.

I was going to do pjs from sheets too & realized I'd gotten rid of all my old sheets in the cleaning & packing for the move, doh! Both sets look great, you seem to have the best stash for kids stuff.
