I haven't actually weighed myself or taken my measurements in awhile. I just need a break from that constant torture.
I will tell you that I've been quite successful with my Couch to 5K program that I started a few weeks ago.
I'm actually already on week 5!
The Couch to 5K program that I've found to fit my schedule the best is this one from coolrunning.com
It allows you to choose the 3 days for your run that work the best. So if it's raining or you have the kids with you all day and can't get to it, you don't have to worry about missing a run.
I've completed all the weeks. Although I admit that last week for week 4 I went back and did week 3 all over again. My pacemaker was hitting the top speed allowance on the last interval every time. So I repeated and it got better. I did the first workout for week 4 this morning and everything is all good. I've learned that there isn't much difference from running 3 minutes and running 5 minutes. You kind of hit a plateau after awhile and get into a rhythm.
I haven't felt like any weight is coming off yet, but my inches must be melting away. I feel stronger and my pants don't fit anymore. In fact, I have absolutely no shorts to wear this summer that fit! I was wearing my maternity ones still last year, but there is no way they are going to stay on this summer. Yay!
Wish me luck! The program gives you 9 weeks of workouts until you should be able to run for 30 minutes straight (or approx. 5K). I already repeated a week, so I'm guessing it'll take me more like 12 or 14 weeks to get there.
But I AM going to get there.
Gotta keep up with these 2 after all.
And you never know when I might need to outrun a polar bear hehehe
