Wednesday Weigh In: New Coat


Starting Weight: 174 lbs 09/12/11
Current Weight: 166 lbs 01/30/13
Target Weight: 150 lbs

Weight Change: 8 lbs
Remaining to Lose: 16 lbs
Avg. Lost Per Week: -0.1 lbs 
I've lost 2 lbs in the past 2 weeks, so I'm right on target.
I'm actually surprised at this one.  You've probably heard that it's been cold in Winnipeg.  Like really really cold.
-43C windchill is even a temperature that should exist.
 I try not to complain because we did choose to live in Winterpeg didn't we?
But this is the coldest winter that we've had since I got my new heart valve.  And I didn't realize that the temperature would effect me in this way.  
I used to have a hard time getting Logan to school when the snow drifts were everywhere because I had a difficult time maneuvering around them on the way to school.  Now that I have more circulation since my heart surgery, I can move my fingers and toes enough in the winter to climb over and around all sorts of drifts.   

Now the problem is super cold.  I have more circulation, which means I can feel Every. Single. Joint.  OWEEEYYYYY!

This past week when it got cold, I felt like an arthritic old hag.  I was cranky and my body was popping and aching everywhere.  And then to top all that off, I went to take Logan to school on Monday morning and I must have breathed in too much cold air next to the corkscrew metal I have holding my chest together.  Youch!  It constricted and had me wheezing for most of the morning.

I guess I had better learn to wear a scarf and keep my breath nice and warm out there.

And then my only winter coat broke.  The zipper refused to go down and then the entire thing broke right off.  *sigh*.  So I was busy wearing a sweater with my winter coat kinda snapped onto me.  

It's a wonder I lost any weight with all this happening.  I could barely exercise.
