Iron Craft #25: Let There Be Light

This week's challenge:

" We would like you to make something using lights. Any light will do, candles, lamps, Christmas lights or other light source." (Courtesy of Just Crafty Enough)

This was super simple for me.

The weekend that we put up the tree fell a little later this year than normal.  We didn't put up our tree until last weekend.  We always get a real tree and put it up the weekend after Logan's birthday.

But we wanted some sort of decoration before we brought the tree in since we were all feeling the Christmas spirit already.

So I went to an unlikely source - the garden.

I grabbed our tomato cage from the summer. It obviously wasn't being put to good use right now, and it was perfect for this craft.

I grabbed some spare garland and some lights from the dollar store and voila!

A mini Christmas tree!

It may look like a tangled mess in the light.  But it looks really pretty in the dark.

I taped the top to make the tomato cage into a pyramid shape.

Logan loves to plug it in every evening.  He has even taken to putting the small wrapped gifts under it hehehe

And of course when I was taking pictures of it next to the big tree on the weekend, Logan had to pose with it.

I think this is a great idea. I'd love to do a forest of them in my yard
