A Ghastlie Christmas: The 5th Mini Quilt

I may be off my nut, but I absolutely needed to change up these mini Christmas tree quilts by the 5th one or I was going to go completely bonkers.

So I took the very odd Ghastlie Family Reunion fabric by Alexander Henry and made a very odd little quilt.

I won this fabric from Alidiza who was hosting her giveaway on my bloggy friend Kristie's blog OCD: Obsessive Crafting Disorder. (Check out the Ghastlies quilt that she made - so awesome!)  I won the fabric in October and by the time I got it, I couldn't get anything together for Halloween.

But people (even strange ones like the Ghastlies) have their family reunions at Christmastime, so I went with it.

I used the creepy tree fabric for the .... creepy Christmas tree.

I used the ornamental white and black and the black and grey for the Christmas tree decorations and the ground.

I used some vintage dusty rose coloured lace that I scored at the Thrift store for the frame.

And of course The Ghastlies in all their weird glory for the edging.

They are so delicious aren't they?

I ran out quickly on Saturday and got some silver and black sequins to sew around the Christmas decorations.  I think that was the added touch this quilt needed.

This was a present for Logan and Lane's godparents.  I think they will appreciate the oddness of this family and welcome The Ghastlies into their home.

Yup, it's definitely a good thing that I'm done sewing these for this year.  I have lost a few screws along the way I'm sure.

Everyone have a terrific.... er ... I mean Ghastlie New Year's!!!!
