Project Project Runway: Good Taste Tastes Good

You may have noticed the lack of posts around here the past few weeks.  I apologize.  My annual head/chest cold has grabbed a hold of me again and I'm exhausted.  Remember last year when I had to postpone my heart surgery because of my annual chest cold?  I catch this stupid thing every year!

So I didn't do last week's Project Project Runway challenge.  Actually I did start on it, but I couldn't hash it out in time and wasn't feeling well enough to work on it.

This week, we only had an hour to finish our project, so I sucked it up and tried.

Here's the challenge:

Good taste comes in many forms, but has to start somewhere. Create a tasteful outfit inspired by the colors and flavors of gelato. You can chose from these flavors; chocolate with cayenne pepper, kiwi, cantaloupe, milk with sour cherries, passion fruit , blueberry, green tea, fruits of the forest, vanilla madagascar and grapefruit.

Time Limit – This week the real challenge for the designers was the time constraint, so we thought we’d add that to our challenge too. You have 60 minutes to complete your looks. This does not include shopping or photography time.

Yipes! An hour is rough....

And so is my outfit!

Since I didn't have anything to show last week, I figured that I'd end up picking last for flavour inspiration this week.  The last choice on the show was Chocolate with Cayenne Pepper, so I went with that.  Plus, you all know by now that I love designing in brown hehehe

I tried to get my machine to ruffle the hem to save some time, but it ended up looking more damaged and crooked than ruffled :(

I figured that if Cayenne Pepper was mixed with chocolate, it wouldn't have such a bright red feel, so I went with more of a shiny dark red.

Mostly this outfit it totally unfinished and a disaster.  If I were on the show, I would definitely be in the bottom for this mess this week.  But I don't think it's as bad as the actual chocolate with cayenne pepper disaster on the show.  I didn't like those layers with white at all!

Gah! And I didn't like anything from that horrible accessory wall either.

Maybe it's all the coughing and sneezing.  Boy am I negative today.

Sorry about that....

Everyone is sick right now! Here at our house too but luckily we shook it quickly. I never though the 60 minutes would be so hard so I commend any of us who got anything that looks like a dress done. ;)
