Iron Craft 2 - Hearts and Flowers

Iron craft 2 was all about hearts and flowers.

Valentine’s Day is less than a month a way and that means it’s time for a little hearts and flowers. Don’t worry if you aren’t into Valentines, all we are asking this challenge is that you use either hearts or flowers in your project. Whether your project has to do with Valentine’s Day at all is up to you. (courtesy of Just Crafty Enough)

I struggled with this one.  I wanted to do something cool, but hearts and flowers in my mind aren't that cool.  What to do?

The best thing to do I found was to round up a bunch of supplies that really have nothing to do with hearts or flowers and see where they take me.

Mod podge is a great ingredient to get me thinking about something new.

I decided to mix the mod podge with the popcorn and then the rice and make these two hearts

I painted the hearts bright red.  Then I took some of that sleek black fabric I had and make it into a neck cuff with red lace all around it.

Then I glued lace all around the two hearts and put them together at the centre of the neck cuff.

Ta Da!

A Gothic Looking Valentine's Day Neck Cuff.

Kind of Twilight of me isn't it?

And in case you thought that I forgot the flower part of the challenge, I added white rose button as the closure to the neck cuff.

Ooooh... sorta cool.  Maybe?

Taking a picture of my neck is a strange thing to try.  But the neck cuff looks pretty awesome on me.  I might even be convinced to wear it on Valentine's Day.  What do you think?
