Wednesday Weigh In - Halfway!


Starting Weight: 174 lbs 09/12/11
Current Weight: 162 lbs 11/09/11
Target Weight: 150 lbs

Weight Change: 12 lbs
Remaining to Lose: 12 lbs
Avg. Lost Per Week: -1.4 lbs

YAY! I've lost 2 lbs this week bringing the total to 12 lbs! I'm halfway there!!!!

With all this Halloween candy in the house it's surprising that I didn't gain any weight.  I really had to keep track of those calories.

And I'm so proud of Terry who had to make bigger sacrifices that I had to.  Did you know that a glass of milk is near 400 calories?  Terry used to drink 3 jugs of milk per week!  He now buys one carton for the kids and drinks it minimally, which is a huge sacrifice because he loves his glasses of milk.

But he is down a whopping 14 lbs!  He is more than halfway to his goal.  Way to go Terry!
We also had to give up beer and spinach dip on Saturday evenings.  This past Saturday though we decided it might be OK to indulge in a few beers as long as we didn't go overboard.  So I exercised my butt off for 1 hour on the elliptical and made back enough calories to cover the beer and low calorie snack of popcorn.
Amazingly, the hour of exercise didn't make me stiff (other than my arms were feeling floppy the next day) and my heart didn't freak out.  I am LOVING this new valve.  All you chumps you have lived with a pulmonary valve all your lives were keeping the awesomeness of it from me.  Shame! hehehe  I actually gained an inch on my biceps this week.  Getting some muscle tone! yay!
So do I look any different?

This is me in the summer July 8th, 2011 at 174 lbs

Not much difference I'm afraid. The lbs are coming off but the inches are still similar.  I've lost 2 inches on the waist, 1 inch on the hips, 2 inches on the chest. I lost 2 inches on the thighs and then gained it back. At least for that I can call it muscle now :) I've gained 2 inches in muscle on the calves and an inch on the biceps.  It appears that all my inches just move around (hopefully to the right places).

Congrats on reaching the halfway point! Glad to hear you've found a way to still enjoy your little rewards, in a responsible way. You're looking great.
