This week we were tasked with making an outfit for a real woman:
"Challenge – The “client” was the significant other. And the model was “a real woman”.
For our purposes, lets use our S.O. (or even just a friend) and have
them try to describe what we should design. They should have input into
color and style and ‘statement’ of the overall garment. But we should
still see your point-of-view as a designer. Go ahead and make the design
something ‘for yourself’ because, hey, a lovely model is going to wear
it on the runway!" (courtesy of Just Crafty Enough)
Let me tell ya, letting Terry design an outfit for me.... um....
All he said was "Show off the boobs and put leather in it."
So a leather skirt and a cute sweater to show off the ... ahem... assets! :P
The sweater is actually make out of an old sweater of mine. I didn't really want to add too much bulk, so I didn't finish any of the edges. Gives it kind of an unfinished look though. The judges might not like that.
The skirt is made out of dark brown leather. I really like this and wish that I could have one in my size as well. I cut and sewed fringe along the bottom. You can see that Lane also liked my design and pulled one of the fringe pieces out already. Ooops!
It even looks cute from the back.
I accessorized Aurora with these Ash Scott boots from the Piperlime Accessory Wall.
Not bad for an outfit designed by this guy!
For this gal!
Yes, I dyed my hair purple yesterday. Whadya think? I love it! :D The kids love it! Even the mommies in the drop off line at school like it :)
And I think it would suit my newly designed outfit. No need to accessorize the hair hehehe
