Patchy: The Patchwork Mini Duffel

I've been having a rough time these past few weeks. Maybe it's burn out from keeping the kids entertained in the heat all summer. Maybe I'm sad because my little man starts Kindergarten soon. We have an interview with the teacher tomorrow! EEK!

Anyway, I just don't feel like doing anything. So I really haven't. I skipped blogging the past few weekends. And I even skipped a blog post yesterday. Although I did get my butt in gear and post up the Winnipeg Etsy Street Team Back To School Design Challenge results up on that blog yesterday - so I did do something.

When a girl starts to feel this way, sometimes she just needs a new handbag.

Since I don't have the money for one whenever I have a whim, and I know how to sew, I made my own.

Introducing "Patchy." She's a patchwork mini duffel.

I made her using this tutorial.

Then I put all my bling on her. She's purdy.

I often take a pile of my scraps and make huge sheets of patchwork in order to have it in my stash when I decide to make a patchwork project. So I just took the fabric off of the shelf and cut out the dimensions I needed. :) I used cream coloured corduroy for the accents.

What do you do when you have a case of the blahs? I seriously need to get out of this funk.

I looove mini duffels like this! When I was a kid I had a purple one with a unicorn. Adoring your grown-up version and the bling is a great touch!

That's a great mini duffle bag. Love the patchwork. When I feel down, I exercise.
