Ugh ... Make That Double Ugh

I hate my bathroom floor.

Whoever decided on this particular pattern of linoleum was insane.

Every time I walk on it I feel like I'm stepping directly onto an eyeball. Seriously...

Look at all of those little grey and brown squiggles. Just like an eyeball.

I made a bathmat that covers most of the floor so I don't have to look at it. I gotta say that I'm seriously thinking about learning how to lay linoleum. Our bathroom is so small that it would only take a piece of remnant to cover.

Anyone know how to do this? Is it easy?

Or am I going to have to wear my socks into the bathroom everyday and suffer? Because it's starting to get to the point where I won't have my precious bare tootsies touch that eyeball anymore. Ewwwww....

depends how neat you want it to look! the hard part is around the toilet
...and how hard it is to rip up the old,, and what shape the sub floor is in, if you have to replace it
or if the former owner put the baseboard on top of it and you have to take it all off
can you tell I've been there?

Hey it's just in time for Halloween! Paint an eyeball over it, decorate the bathroom as a haunted house and invite the trick or treaters inside!

You might consider cork tiles. They are pretty easy to install with contact cement. As Ruth says, it's the prep that's the hard part, and it looks great! "We" have put cork in one bathroom and the kitchen/entrance, and it was not too difficult for novices like us.
