Project Project Runway: Week Two Workbench

**** Note: There is no Secret Mommyhood Confession Saturday because Kim is on holiday. I hope she's having fun. Come back next week... or the week after if she has a terrific time camping, for all the dirt.

It's time for the unconventional materials challenge this week!

Week Two Project Project Runway Challenge: My Pet Project

Use anything from a pet store to make your design. (If you have pet stuff at home you can use it rather than buy something.) You can use a base fabric like muslin to build your outfit on. Tim reminds us, “The judges do not respond well to looks that come out of unconventional challenges that use a lot of fabric.”

Time Limit – You have 13 hours to create your design.

Accessories – Feel free to chose shoes and accessories from the Piperlime Accessory Wall to go with to go with your outfit.

Runway Day – Thursday, August 11th
Just a reminder only in progress photos should be posted to the Flickr group before Runway Day. Save the big reveal for next Thursday.

So what am I gonna do? I don't want to spend a lot of money on this challenge, so I searched for pet store-like materials that I have around the house.

I came up with these. Some dog leash in red. Some hair elastics that could be used like Barbie-sized dog collars. Some plastic aquarium flowers. And some clear tubing that could be used like Barbie-sized aquarium tubing.

I don't have a sketch. I have no idea what I'm gonna do with these materials.

Wish me luck! I'll send Aurora down the runway in something on Thursday. :D
