Work In Progress Wednesday: Summertime Projects

I have some big projects coming up this week, so I really don't have much in the way of finishes to show you.

So I thought I'd show you my works in progress.

Logan and I have been busy painting box planters and a bird house to set outside this summer. I'm currently working on decorating our old garden bench (the one that turns into a picnic table). We are planning on getting a new and bigger picnic table because this one is getting old and weathered. Perfect for making a bench garden.

I bought some bright yellow paint to spruce the bench up a bit. Hopefully the weather will stay nice this long weekend so that I can paint it. Then I'll add some vine, flowers and a birdhouse to the mix and it should look lovely in the corner of our yard. Photos will be coming as soon as I get the little garden set up.

And my back up plan if the weather sucks this weekend is to finally get started on Lane's curtains. I went to Fabricland and found out that the strawberries fabric was on sale for $6/meter! And the red accent was only $6.50/meter! Woo hoo! Now I have no excuse to get those things sewn and hung. The curtains will make Lane's room so much more summery and kid-friendly :)

Lane already likes it!
