Macrame Monday: Shoes!

Terry is back to work for the first time since before my surgery today. I can honestly say that I forgot how sweaty it is to be a full time mommy. Yuck...

Today it's been raining, so we spend the morning painting a sign that said "free" on it for Free Weekend coming up this weekend. We cleaned the inside of the kitchen windows - so much grease! Oy! We dusted the rec room and did a couple of loads of laundry. Then Logan had his heart set on a sandwich for lunch. Of course he didn't like my suggestion of tuna or peanut butter and jam because those were the things we had at home. So we trudged off in the green wagon to the IGA for some bologna while there was a break in the rain.

Now I'm tired. Lane is sleeping, but Logan is wide awake. At least he can play by himself a bit.

I don't have the next macrame knot tutorial prepared yet, so you'll have to forgive me, or not ...

Either way, I'm going to show you my new shoes! :D

Oh? I neglected to mention that they are macrame shoes? Silly me. :D

And they feature the diagonal clove hitch knot (diamond shape) that we were working on last week? Ooops.

I guess they do fit in with Macrame Monday after all! Surprise!

And they are pretty pretty.

OK, they don't look as good as they could, but it's raining today so I had to take this photo in my laundry room.

I bought them from this fabulous Etsy vintage wear shop. There were a few marks on them that the seller thought might be old glue. I just scratched most of it off and it totally worked. The back straps are very well worn as well, but I'm just gonna cut em off and attach a new strap (cuz I'm crafty like that).

Nice piece of vintage macrame for only $14. Sweet!

Do you have any Macrame pieces laying around your house? I'd love to hear about them. Come on, one of you must have a 1970s Macrame plant hanger in some deep dark closet. :)
