Those Pearly Whites

I am one step closer to getting all the paperwork that I need before my heart surgery done. I went to the dentist today!

Shock of all shocks....

I haven't been to the dentist since sometime around 2002.

I'm a bad little heart patient. I know oral health is right up there with cardiac health. I know the health of my mouth is very important to the health of my heart. Yes, I know about endocarditis because my cardiologist interogates me about brushing, flossing and going to the dentist EVERY time I see him.

I'm actually very passionate about my teeth so I don't even have an excuse as to why I haven't gone for so long. But having an "dentally fit for surgery" form to fill out will spur anyone to get their butt in the chair.

So how did the appointment go you may ask?

Check out that smile! OK, so it's a little crooked. Three years of braces and I still can't get a decent smile. And the overbite - well we won't get into that.

But those pearly whites are hard as rocks (and about the only dang things on this lemon of a body that actually work properly). In all my 34 years I still have yet to develop the evil and scary cavity. And although I haven't got my teeth cleaned in a long ass time, I don't have that much build up either. My chompers are awesome!

I'll bite you! I'm serious.
