Mama Needs a New Pin Cushion

My pretty red pin cushion with the fabric Chinese ladies holding up the cushion just like my mommy used to have is toast. :(

I've used it so much that it no longer holds the pins in it. They keep falling out all over the place and I was starting to worry that they would fall on the floor while carrying the cushion back and forth from sewing machine to ironing board. Wouldn't want the kids to step on those - ouch!

So I made myself a new one.

I had to keep the Asian theme. I found a chipped bowl that we can't use and turned it into pin cushion art!

I based this creation around this Tea Cup Pin Cushion and this Tuna Can Pin Cushion.

Upcycling is my very favourite things to do, so this was perfect. Now I have a larger and sturdier pin cushion. It's surprisingly lightweight and easy to carry around as well, but I think I will make a wrist pin cushion for those walks back and forth between sewing machine and ironing board just in case. :)

Any excuse to sew pretty things right?
