My plan yesterday was to finish a pair of Logan's pajamas. But I ended up not having enough flannelette for the sleeves, so I went to the fabric store to get some. This means that I have to pre-wash the new sleeves fabric before I can go any further.
What to do in the meantime?
Upcycle of course!
I found an amazingly cool tutorial on one of my favourite websites Cut Out and Keep for Sweater Boots!
All I needed was a sweater that I don't wear anymore, some hot glue, and one of those cheap pairs of slip on shoes. No way!
I had bought 2 pairs of those shoes (for $20) for Josh and Mel's wedding a few years ago and I haven't really worn them since. Perfect for sweater boots. I had a warm sweater that had a great design on it.. I got it for Christmas one year before kids, and now I can't seem to wear any sweaters. Way too warm even in the dead of winter. Chasing after children will heat you up just fine without extra bulky sweaters to help.
I used the pretty wooden button as decoration on the cuff. Super cute!
I still had lots of sweater left, so I whipped up a cute hat to match.
I probably still have enough to make a pair of mittens as well. Awesome!
Have any of you made some cool upcycling projects lately? I'd love to hear about them.
