Summer Sewing Finale: Gone Fishin' Applique

We had a little flood on the weekend, so I delayed the finale of Summer Sewing Month just a little. One day isn't that bad.

I made Logan the sweetest ... er ... I mean ... most manly muscle shirt. I drew a Gone Fishin' applique and put it on the front of a muscle shirt that I cut out of an old maternity top. I won't be needing that anymore.

Aww father and son fishing.

Pinned it all down and started hand stitching it in place.

Isn't it sweet? Just ignore that terrible trim that I used on the shirt itself. I'm not really loving it. But Logan is out grocery shopping with his dad, and then there's chaos while we try to get the kids to bed before Glee starts. So I'll save it as is for now and try it on him before I rip it off and try another technique. Who knows, maybe it looks better on? I doubt it.

I threw the picture I drew for this applique into my Dropbox to share if you'd like to try it out.
If you print out two copies, you can use one for placement and one for cutting the pattern pieces out of felt. Enjoy!

As always, if you try one of my patterns, I would love to see your version. You can e-mail me a photo (the email link is in my profile) or put it up in my Flickr pool. :)

Up next: We start Lingerie Month!
