Sibling Communication

Contrary to what the Rugrats have taught us, Logan assures me that he does not understand Laney's baby talk. But that doesn't stop them from communicating with each.

Logan and Laney spend most days talking to each other. What about? I have no idea! But they yap and yap and yap. Logan mostly tells Laney that she's a baby and therefore cannot have his freezy or toys or sippy cup. Laney just coos and goo goos back at him.

They have their own little language. It's the cutest thing to watch. It melts my heart to see the two of them "playing" together. After dinner, Laney sits in her high chair and Logan bops a balloon around the diningroom. He laughs, which makes Laney laugh, which makes mommy and daddy laugh. I've never seen anything like it and I cherish these moments with all my heart.

Neither Terry nor I can make Laney laugh the way that Logan can. It's precious. I hope it never ends. I know that they will be each other's main playmate for most of their childhood because my brother and I were. But I also know the atrocious fights we used to get into, which Logan and Lane will also get into.

Here's hoping the good relationship outweighs the minor sibling skirmishes!

Play on little dude and dudette!
