Project Upcycle Day 13 - Ruffly Maternity Skirt

Yesterday I asked you what I would make out of a pair of maternity pants and a "when I used to be skinny" skirt? I hinted that there would be ruffles. Thankfully I did not cry as I suggested that I might while I made the ruffles. But to photograph black - that almost brought me to tears! Yipes!

Anyway, on with the show! 1) cut just above the crotch.

2) Take the extra leg fabric and make it into a lengthener piece for the skirt. We are older and we're still keeping the maternity aspect for this skirt, so we don't want a skirt that barely covers our butts!

3) Cut strips out of the skirt for ruffles

4) make into nice long ruffles and add them to the bottom of our new skirt.

Voila - 3 pretty ruffles later, you have a nice, new maternity skirt!

*** This ruffly maternity skirt will be listed at Tawny Bee for $40. Half the proceeds ($20) from the sale will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as part of my Upcycle for Heart and Stroke 2010 campaign***

Stay tuned tomorrow where I will be making something out of these baby jammies that Laney has grown out of and the leftovers from the tie dyed t-shirt that I made underwear out of a few days ago. Hint: Flower girl?
