Project Upcycle Day 10 - Bunnies and Teapots Luggage ID

Yesterday I asked you what I would make out of this cute little baby dress with bunnies and teapots on it (I just couldn't let it go to waste), some beige coloured pants and some vinyl packaging. The hint was: I'm leaving on a jet plane.

So let's get started.

1) Cut two rectangles. I didn't need to put interfacing in there because the dress was lined :)
And cut a larger rectangle for a strap.

2) sew vinyl in and decorate it.

3) Finish around the edges and sew the strap in. Voila! You've got a pretty ID tag for your luggage. No more standing at the baggage carousel wondering if the 10th black bag that goes by is yours. You'll have bunnies and teapots to alert you. There is a pocket to put your business card in, or you can handwrite your info and stick it in there.

*** The Bunnies and Teapots Luggage ID will be listed at Tawny Bee for $10. Half the proceeds ($5) from the sale will be donated to the Heart and Stroke Foundation as part of my Upcycle for Heart and Stroke 2010 campaign ****

Stay tuned tomorrow to find out what I'll make out of this belt that is waaaaaayyy too small for me. I really love it because it has such a sweet lacey print on the leather. Hint: It's illuminating!
