Whose Kid Is This?!!

Logan still loves his carrots. If you don't shovel them into his mouth fast enough, he starts banging his hands on his highchair, with mouth open wide emitting a weird little scream. We've come to know that scream as the "you parents aren't paying enough attention to me" scream heehehe

But the verdict is still out on those vile bananas....

What kinda kid likes carrots over bananas?

My kid! That's who!

Carrots!

This weekend has been filled with all sorts of new things for Logan. On Saturday, we went to the Farmers Market out in St. Norbert. There were tons of babies there and fiddlers! Logan loved being out in the sun, looking at all the people and listening to the music. He's such a happy baby when he's outside in his stroller. His new favourite thing is to eat the stroller (or at least try to).

When we got home, we started him on baby food. The books and doctor said to start out with a sweeter tasting vegetable. Carrots or sweet potatoes. We opted for carrots. And Logan loves them! Check out the picture for proof. That was taken just after his first bite. Messy!

It's bananas next or sweet potatoes.

On Sunday we went to the good ole mall to buy Logan some new hats and swim trunks. We got him a Canada red hat and another Safari-type hat. Pictures to come later. We'll have him wear the Canada one on Canada Day this weekend.

Then we invited our friends Josh and Melanie over to have a bar-b-que with us. We bought some Bison burgers at the Farmers Market to eat. They were yummy! Logan probably wanted a bite of that instead of his carrots, but he still downed all of them and showed his godparents how well he's doing with learning how to crawl. And as a good treat after the bar-b-que, Josh and Mel brought over an ice cream cake. Nummers!

It was a good weekend. Hopefully this Canada Day long weekend is going to be equally as good.

Grape-ulus

We were watching "Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?" I know... lame. Anyway, one of the questions was:

"Who is the Greek God of wine?"

First of all, which 5th graders know the answer to this? I'd watch out for them! Bunch of raving alcoholics.

I obviously didn't know the answer. So I said it was "Grape-ulus" hahaha

Let's see a 5th grader come up with such a good answer.

The answer was Dionysus if you wanted to know.

Weird Al in Concert

I didn't actually go to the Weird Al concert on Wednesday night. But Terry did and he doesn't want to write about it. So I will.

(First of all, check out that picture at the top. Logan is in the background making some sort of "word to your moms" hands action hehehe.... he's so White and Nerdy too).

Terry had an awesome time. He went with a friend who was a super-fan of Weird Al. Actually, Terry said his whole section on the floor of the MTS Centre were super-fans. Everyone was singing along and having a great time.

The most interesting part of the night according to Terry was this guy in his section who was an obvious Weird Al fan brought his girlfriend along, who obviously wasn't. Every time the crowd got going and singing and enjoying themselves, she would stare them all down. Apparently, that was terribly funny.

Another thing that you might not know about Weird Al. He's his own show. He had no opening act and he's constantly changing outfits and props. So how does he keep the crowd going while he does these diva changes you might ask? Well he plays various clips on a video screen. One from when he was on the Simpsons. The time he took over MuchMusic (actually the several times he took over that station) etc, etc.

So all in all it was a good time. Stay tuned to my friend Josh's blog for more updates about the Weird Al show. He got to see it in the fancy box seats and has promised to write a blog about it :D

Catch Up

This is going to be a really long, boring blog about the Team T-Lo family. There are a lot of things going on lately and I thought I'd put a mixed bag of stuff in here to catch you all up.

So Logan covered the Red River Ex trip already. I'll start on Sunday. Terry's first Father's Day. It went well. Logan and I had gone out and found perfect cards and a picture frame to put photos of Logan and me in for Terry to bring to work. He was telling us he wanted one of those for a long time. We cooked him breakfast and then hung out with him all day. He got to sleep in even... yay!

On Monday we took Logan to his 6 month well baby appointment. We figured out the mystery of the Pampers diapers while there. We were watching the doctor place an "X" on the chart for Logan's height and weight. He's 19.3 pounds. That "X" landed in the normal curve for babies his age. Then the "X" for his height was all the way in the blue, way above the normal height for babies his age. He's a whopping 28 inches!

Which explains why he jumped up to diapers that were supposed to be way too big for him. We tried 4s, which are for babies 22 pounds and over. These were OK during the day, although they still didn't quite fit high enough and would leak through during the night. So we've switched to 5s during the night for the added absorbency and length (even though they are for kids 35 pounds and up!).

The doctor has said that little Loags can start fruits and veggies now. He is going to love that. He always wants all our food. Sadly, our pediatrician is retiring, so we've got to find another doctor. So, now we're in the process of finding a family doctor in order to keep all our histories in one place.

I told you this blog was going to get boring hehehe

What else? My family is having a reunion this weekend in Lethbridge. I can't go. It's way to much work to bring a little one all the way to Alberta for a few days. Especially because Terry has to work. We're thinking about everyone though. If anyone has a laptop with wireless set up though (and I'm sure there is someone since our family has several geeks in it), I'm always on MSN. I'll turn on the webcam so everyone can see the baby. I'm home almost all day anyway, so just let me know. :D

And that's about it.

Here is a pic of Loags and daddy. He may be a tall baby (I call him "Stretch" now), but he's never gonna catch up with that tree!

My First Trip to the Red River Ex (A Beaner Blog)

HI Everyone, Logan here. I went to the Red River Ex with my parents today. Boy was it fun! There was so much to see and lots of colors and animals and people and food and toys and rides and games to look at.

First Daddy had to hold me most of the time because I couldn't sit still in the stroller. I wanted to see everything. Mommy put some weird lotion on me so that I wouldn't burn and made sure that I was wearing my hat. But I kept pulling it off. It was ruining my 'do.

Mommy and daddy got some mini doughnuts to eat. Those looked good, so I tried to snatch the bag. It didn't work. I wasn't fast enough, but mommy let me lick some sugar off her fingers. Yum!

We looked at all the rides that I will be able to ride next year. Those looked like fun, but I was more interested when we went to the petting zoo. I liked the watching the chickens ruffle their feathers. I was so tired, but I wouldn't have my afternoon nap in the middle of all the excitement, no matter how much mommy and daddy tried. They fed me my milk and I just kept on watching everything.

Then I got to play a game! I picked 3 ducks and got a green toy. Green is my favourite colour. Yay! I named the toy "Pppthft." It is a game that I play with my family. I make a "farting" type of sound. Then my parents make the same noise. Or they do it first and I try to copy them. Then we all laugh. It's great fun. So now my toy is named "Pppthft." hehehe

And here is a picture of me at the day's end. I came home, had some rice cereal, had a bath and fell fast asleep.

Cause and Effect for Babies

Logan laying in his crib at 1:00 AM

He thinks to himself: "Oooooh I can roll over"

Logan rolls over onto his stomach.

He thinks to himself: "ACK! I don't like this!"

Logan cries.

Cut to Mommy and Daddy's Room.

Mommy gets up slowly and shuffles into Logan's room to flip him over onto his back.

She drags herself back to bed.

Cut to Logan's Room.

Logan thinks to himself: "Oooooh I can roll over."

Logan then rolls over onto his stomach.

He thinks to himself: "ACK! I don't like this!"

Logan cries.

Cut to Mommy and Daddy's Room

Terry gets up slowly, walks to Logan's room and flips the baby onto his back.

He stumbles back to bed.

Cut to Logan's Room.

Logan thinks to himself: "Ooooooh I can roll!"

....... and so on and so on until baby finally gets tired enough to fall asleep.

It's a good thing Logan is so cute or he'd never get away with this!

Febrozen

As any parent knows, diapers genies claim to keep odors locked away inside the plastic receptacles. And for the most part, they do. But when it's 30 degrees outside, nothing is invincible.

We noticed that last week. Every time we walked into Logan's room... *sniff* ... *sniff* ... PU!

Something needed to be done, and fast.

Today I went to the trusty London Drugs and bought some Febreze. The stuff says it will eliminate odors and leave a fresh scent in any room. Anything is better than the vileness that is Logan's change area. Apparently, it will leave a Rocky Mountain cool scent. Nice!

When I was talking to Terry about the past tense of "Febreze" (used in verb form), I decided that "Febrezed" sounded too boring. Therefore, the house has just been "Febrozen" :D

Awwwwww, my nose thanks me.
