Like Father, Like Son

This weekend I went out shopping. I was supposed to only get some things for myself, but I wandered into the baby clothing store. I couldn't resist getting this outfit for Logan.

If you've known Terry for any amount of time, you know that his basic summer wardrobe consists of khaki shorts and a muscle shirt. Now baby can look just like his daddy. Cute!

What else has been happening? Well, Logan has decided that his toes are the best mid-afternoon snack. Yum Yum.

My First Mother's Day Among Other Things

It's about a week and a half late, but let me tell you about my first Mother's Day. It was wonderful. I slept in, then went for a walk with Logan. He had a 2 hour afternoon nap! I think that was his way of giving me a nice present. Terry bought me a card with a baby on top of a pile of diapers on the front. Cute! And he bought me got some cheesecake from Baked Expectations. Yum! It was a great day, even though I still have trouble thinking of myself as "mommy".

Here is a picture that proves it though. Me and baby.

What else has been happening? Not much. Logan is growing out of all his clothes again. He loves his rice cereal, but is having a bit of trouble eating it in his gigantic highchair. He likes to wiggle and he can't move his knees up and down in the chair. Oh well, he can usually make it until one of us is done our meal. Pretty good for a 5 month old.

The election stuff is over. I had most of the blogs I sent in published on the CBC site. I didn't go to the legislature last night because Logan was a little fussy all day and I was so tired. I ended up going to sleep at 8:30 and Terry told me the results when he came to bed. Let's just say, it turned out the way I wanted it to. But there really wasn't much doubt that it would.

Hmm that's all from the Team T-Lo residence lately. Stay tuned ...

iPods may cause pacemaker glitch

No worries, I put my iPod right next to my pacemaker to test this theory and nothing happened.

The Emperor's New Throne

We are starting to look like the all-Canadian family lately, a family that actually eats meals together at the kitchen table.

On the weekend we bought a highchair for Logan and chairs for us. We set up a nice little kitchen table with our chairs around it. I even hung the frame with the Japanese character for family that my mom gave us above the whole scene.

Now we're sitting down at the table to eat meals. We feed the baby his mush and have a real old-fashioned Norman Rockwell family moment. It's about time. We've been eating meals in the living room on the couch for six years. We haven't sat at a table since good ole Pembina Hall (and even then we ate half of our meals in the lounge in front of the TV).

So King Logan has a new throne and a new crown. Check out his cute hat in the picture.

I'm Famous!

Well I'm not actually famous, but it's as close as I'm gonna get.

I was bored last week while watching the news on CBC. Manitoba is having a provincial election campaign right now and they were asking for people to voice their opinions on the most important issues to them.

So I went to the website and filled in the form for something to do. I figured they'd read my thing over the air or something. Instead, they've phoned me up and told me that they want to do periodic updates with me during the campaign and they want me to blog about the election on their website.

How cool is that?

I know that most of you don't actually get the Winnipeg CBC news broadcast and therefore will never see me on TV, but whatever.

I'm famous!

The producer and cameraman came to my house on Tuesday. They filmed a little introduction and then filmed me playing with the baby and stuff. They also made me repeat all sorts of promos. One for CBC News at 6 and one for the website. It was crazy.

The introduction aired last night at 5:00 (Hockey pushed the news to an earlier time slot). It was OK. The 6 people they chose all looked nervous. It's hard to say a 20 second introduction directly to a camera.

I don't have cable, so we watched it on our snow/peasant vision. I look much better when covered in squiggly lines hehehe Very Happy

Anyway, the CBC radio phoned me last night, they want me to speak on their morning show tomorrow morning I think. They will call and if the baby isn't too fussy, then maybe I'll be able to talk for awhile.

They are also filming updates throughout the campaign and invited me, Terry and Logan to the Legislature on election night to give periodic updates as the numbers come in. Crazy eh?
